Danny Picard, What A Fan Awards Nominee

Meet Danny Picard, 2015 What A Fan Awards Online Media/Blog Nominee. Danny was introduced to us via our 2014 Online Media Winners who have been following his show for sometime. He's a big Boston sports fans and we wish him the best of luck this year.

Sports fans have been an important part of the explosive success both collegiate and professional athletics has enjoyed. In 2013 a recognition award show was created to honor fans and their contribution to the sports industry it's called the What A Fan Awards. Its been held in Orlando Florida but will be relocated to Los Angeles California in 2016. Over the coming weeks we're going to introduce you to some of the countries most devoted fans of all genres of sports  in their own words.

How long have you been a fan?

All my life.

Why should you be selected winner in this category?

I should be chosen because my passion for sports comes through in all I do, when hosting my podcast or taking calls on Weei.

What triggered your passion for sports?

Always liked hanging with my friends watching games. Going to Fenway, and The Garden were always fun. 

Favorite sports moment?

Red Sox Winning the 2004 World Series.

Who would you like to meet and why?

Vince McMahon...Vince is a genius at promoting. He took a failing company and turned it into must see show going experience. He took his competition and bought them out, and owned them. McMahon is always a few steps ahead, and someone to admire.

What charitable programs are you involved with?

The Jimmy Fund.

What does your family feel about your passion for sports?

My family has always been supportive of career, even if it wasn't always what they envisioned for me. 

How important is it to you to have an Award Show for fans?

The fans are everything. Bring this type of show to the front would let the big office know, if they don't treat the fans right, they will not have a product to promote!

What would winning the What A Fan Awards mean to you?

Winning would mean that I'm making progress in doing things my way, without the approval of a national spot light.
