Sports fans have been an important part of the explosive success both collegiate and professional athletics has enjoyed. In 2013 a recognition award show was created to honor fans and their contribution to the sports industry it's called the What A Fan Awards. Its been held in Orlando Florida but will be relocated to Los Angeles California in 2016. Over the coming weeks we're going to introduce you to some of the countries most devoted fans of all genres of sports in their own words.
How long have you been a fan?

Why should you be selected winner in this category?
Season ticket holder for many years, El Nacho Ranger is a fan favorite, I've been featured on commercials, pictures been on the fan bus, been to several out of town games in my get up, including Yankee stadium. I rode the subway as El Nacho Ranger...
What triggered your passion for sports?
Playing sports as a youth and now coaching my son's 9u baseball team, and running a men's softball league in our community.
Who would you like to meet?
The great Chuck Morgan, PA announcer at the Ballpark in Arlington (Globe Life)
What charitable programs are you involved with?
Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Ft Worth.
How was your character created?
I've been doing what Yall have been doing for 5 yrs or so. I too am passionate about passionate fans, I've always taken pics with interesting fans and posted them on my Rangers Fan of the Day FB page, I eventually developed my own persona El Nacho Ranger as a suggestion from many of my friends.
What would winning the What A Fan Award mean to you?
It would be a win for all Texas Ranger fans, and I would gladly share it with them!
