Sports fans have been an important part of the explosive success both collegiate and professional athletics has enjoyed. In 2013 a recognition award show was created to honor fans and their contribution to the sports industry it's called the What A Fan Awards. Its been held in Orlando Florida but will be relocated to Los Angeles California in 2016. Over the coming weeks we're going to introduce you to some of the countries most devoted fans of all genres of sports in their own words.
Intense fan for almost 3 years.
Why should you be selected winner of this category?
I live and breathe the New York Rangers.
What triggered your passion for sports?
My divorce and my mother was diagnosed with cancer the same year. The New York Rangers became a huge outlet for me that year. My passion has grown and my intensity for the sport and this team has grown.
Favorite sports moment?
Any game 7 we have won in past couple years.
Who would you like to meet and why?
Anyone on the current team. Messier and Richter also are gods to any NYR fan.
What charitable programs are you involved with?
Avon walk for breast cancer.
How does your family feel about your passion for sports?
My brother is a passionate fan and we love to bicker about our teams. My parents and friends tend to follow the Rangers because of my intense love for them.
How was your character created?
Anything and everything NYR. Even sport a NYR tattoo.
How important is it to you to have an Award Show for fans?
I think it's awesome way to show the world how amazing is fans can be.
What would winning the What A Fan Awards mean to you?
I would love it. Want the world to know how much I love this team.
