Sports fans have been an important part of the explosive success both collegiate and professional athletics has enjoyed. In 2013 a recognition award show was created to honor fans and their contribution to the sports industry it's called the What A Fan Awards. Its been held in Orlando Florida but will be relocated to Los Angeles California in 2016. Over the coming weeks we're going to introduce you to some of the countries most devoted fans of all genres of sports in their own words.
How long have you been a fan?
My whole life.
Why should you be selected winner in this category?
I am a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and I love dressing up to show my support.
What triggered your passion for sports?
I grew up playing sports and have always enjoyed them.
Favorite sports moment?
Meeting Josh Hamilton for the first time in 2008.
Who would you like to meet and why?
Nolan Ryan because he is a legend.
What charitable programs are you involved with?
Support Our Soldiers (SOS) military support group
How does your family feel about your passion for sports?
They love sports just as much as I do.
How was your character created?
I wanted to do something that stood out and was different from other
sport fanatics so I started wearing a Mohawk wig and painted a T on my
face.
How important is it to you to have an Award Show for fans?
I think it's very important to recognize all the die hard sport fans.
What would winning the What A Fan Awards mean to you?
It would be a great honor to receive this award. It'll show that people
actually recognize me for the effort I put in to support my team.
